丁大地为留美农科学生，打算返港培植灵芝。但此计划受到大哥，犬嫂及父亲反对。唯一支持他的人是村长广荫和自少对大地倾慕的孙女宝珠。培植灵芝的计划进行困难，此时，火地遇上乐灵。她是一位广告界新进，同时亦是隐瞒了身份的未婚妈妈。为了事业的发展和隐瞒男友王家明！灵将女儿芝交托别人照顾，但阴差阳错，女儿竟落在大地手中。大地愿意一边照顾芝，一边培植灵芝。灵对大地十分感激，决定协助他推广灵芝事业。。Restoration carried out by the National Museum of Singapore and the World Cinema Foundation.
